Joy Church Medford was founded on August 15, 1982 by Pastor Steve and Kim Schmelzer with the goal of building a strong, committed church family devoted to reaching the lost and a living a life of obedience to Jesus.

The journey began with just one family in a small storefront in Medford, Oregon. Today, with the help of a dedicated Dream Team, Joy Church Medford has grown into a thriving community serving Medford and the surrounding areas.

Since then, Joy Church has expanded beyond Medford, with multiple locations working to make Jesus famous!

At Joy Church Medford, we're passionate about caring for people of all ages! We believe in being an unbroken generational pipeline of believers, from birth to golden years, and we strive to create an environment where everyone can grow in their faith. Our Values

God sent His Son to save us from Sin. We have been transformed by this reality and give our lives to sharing this truth with the world around us! Jesus is our message!
The Bible is the foundation that we as a church are built upon. God’s Word shapes every aspect of our lives and community. We are devoted to reading, studying, and living out God’s Word.
We passionately pursue Jesus and are committed to the journey of becoming deeply formed disciples. We are passionate about personally growing and helping others take their next steps in becoming followers of Jesus.
We are committed to Gathering together in the larger gathering of God’s church and in smaller groups of community. We believe that “group is life” when it is centered around Jesus and His Word. We are passionate about worshiping together in the Gathering and growing together in the groups.
We are a “House of Prayer” and a “People of Prayer.” We are marked and empowered by the presence of God. The Holy Spirit guides, refreshes, and empowers all that we do. We prioritize, listen and welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and church.

We are a missional people. We take the command of Jesus to Go into all of the World and make disciples seriously. We believe we are called to be missional from our neighborhoods to the nations of the earth. God has put us in our city ON Mission FOR a Mission.
We serve a Big God, who is able to do exceedingly above all we could ask or imagine. We choose to be marked with bold, courageous, and daring faith. We intentionally choose to walk in Joy in every season and situation.
We honor every generation. We exist to see the wonders and faithfulness of God passed on from generation to generation. There is beauty in the young and old serving Jesus together. We believe there is purpose and value in every person, and the heart of God is for every generation.
We see Generosity as our privilege. We are generous with our money, time, resources, passion and love! We go first in generosity and we give and live sacrificially. We are passionate about making an eternal impact through the way we live, serve, and give!
We seek to lead the way our Hero Jesus led, as a servant! We lead the way by serving God’s house and people sacrificially, and doing everything with a Spirit of excellence. We pursue excellence in everything we say and do.

At Joy Church, we believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We strive to build our lives upon the rock of Christ and His teachings, and we exist to glorify Jesus through all of our services, Connect Group meetings, and activities. He is the hope of the world, and the cornerstone of all we do!
FAMILY

Family is front and center at Joy Church! We believe in the importance of strong, loving families as the foundation of healthy churches, communities, and societies. Our commitment to serving the family unit is a reflection of the heart of God, and we are passionate about seeing marriages, family relationships, and children thrive in the light of Jesus!

Meet our Pastors!

At Joy Church Medford, you'll be led by our incredible Lead Pastors, Riley and Natalie Aman. With over 20 years of combined ministry experience, they're dedicated to helping people of all ages encounter the life-changing power of Jesus.

Both Riley and Natalie have a heart for the Rogue Valley community, and their vision includes seeing businesses and communities in the area thrive.

In addition to pastoring, Riley works as a chemical engineer, while Natalie is a devoted mom to their three young children. When they're not ministering to the Joy Church community, the Amans enjoy spending quality time with loved ones over a delicious meal and a great cup of coffee.

Joy Church is mission-oriented, with a passion for spreading the joy of Jesus far and wide, both within the Rogue Valley and beyond!
